GALACTIC FOOD FIGHT pc --- Instructions
==============================================================================
Galactic Food Fight is released by myself - John Dondzila to the world of
Public Domain. No money may be charged for this software.
I originally wrote Galactic Food Fight for the Commodore Amiga some 9 months
ago, and I have decided to kill some vacation time and convert it for the
PC machines, Especially since not too many people own Amigas and this is
too good a game not to have on a more popular machine. (I do freelance work
and go to school full time so obviously I don't have money to go anywhere
on my time off). Personally, I think I blew $1500 on that Amiga. Talk about
a lack of support for a computer (Now I said it, I'll be getting boxes of
hate mail for the next 6 months).
Unfortunately there are drawbacks - There is no joystick support, mainly
because I don't own one and probably not too many people do. The keyboard
is a bit awkwards at times but a little practice and you will do fine. Since
the game was first written on an Amiga, there were some noticeable differences,
mainly some spectacular color backgrounds and digitized sound effects and
music. Also gone from the PC version are the "End of Screen Bosses". As hard
as I tried to put a 1/4 screen size graphic that moved smoothly on this PC
version, the movement was just too slow and the game got unplayable.
What you do get is 5 intense rounds of exciting shooting action that will keep
you busy for quite awhile.
NOW LET'S GET STARTED !
=======================
Galactic Food Fight pc requires a VGA monitor. You can adjust the game speed
in case you own a 286 or 386 machine, but it runs quite well even on an XT.
There are five worlds to conquer - Fast Food World, Fruit World, Ice Cream
World, Veggie World and Bakery World. The inhabitants of these worlds are not
your average household foods, if you beat the game, you'll find out how they
came about !
Control your burger fighter with the keyboard and blast those buggers back
to non-existence ! Catch the Power-Up Pod to increase speed, weapons power,
and win extra lives ! You can select starting lives from the options menu
before you start the game as well as starting level, although you can only
start as high as level 3. Skill and practice will help you get to the end.
Unlike those stupid Nintendo games where once you die you can only continue
a couple of times, you can continue on this game to your heart's content.
Play it to the end and beat it and see a neat ending ! (Although it's not
that easy, this is a tough game, and yes, I don't like Nintendo either.
Oh well, more hate mail.)
This game was thoroughly tested on an IBM PC/XT Clone and an IBM PS/2
Model 25. It will run on VGA or MCGA.
If you enjoy this game, feel free
to send Money, Food, Gas or Whatever to...
